COACHING
Cheshire Tennis prides itself on the quality and dedication of its coaches who support our players on their journey in the tennis world. The support for our coaches is ongoing as new technologies, techniques, and areas emerge in our sport, bringing both opportunities and challenges.
We support the LTA’s vision to open tennis up to as many people as possible and endorse its work to make tennis relevant, accessible, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.
Coach Central is Cheshire Tennis’s contracted Coach Development Centre (CDC) appointed by the LTA. They work with Cheshire Tennis to support and deliver qualification requirements.
Details of all current courses can be found by contacting coached@i2ctennis.co.uk.
Officials play a crucial role in Cheshire Tennis’s strategy, as competitions cannot happen without them.
The LTA has pathways for competition organizers, court supervisors, referees, and umpires. More details can be found on the LTA website to start your journey as an official. If you have any questions or queries regarding coach or officials’ development, please contact clive@cheshirelta.org.
COACH SUPPORT
The Coach Support Scheme aims to assist the coaches with their professional development as well as motivating them to complete the course and share their new expertise across the County. To date we have helped over 150 coaches in Cheshire.
The Scheme will contribute 50% of the cost of the core training modules of the LTA qualification pathway in return for coaching hours in lieu. Of this grant 25% is given after being accepted onto the course and the other 25% is given on successful completion of the course. Due to financial constraints, not all applicants will be successful and applicants must be members of a registered Cheshire club.
Applications must be made when you have been accepted onto the course but before the course has started. Applications cannot be made retrospectively.
