SAFEGUARDING
Cheshire Tennis is committed to prioritising the well-being of all children and adults at risk, promoting safeguarding in our county at all times, including all programmes and events we run. Our County safeguarding officers are Siu Yau & Phil Hulme (details below), who works closely with the LTA Regional Safeguarding Officer (Claire Young) who is also available to assist any of Cheshire's registered venues if the need arises.

JOINT SAFEGUARDING OFFICERS
Siu Yau and Phil Hulme share the role of County Safeguarding Officers for Cheshire Tennis, working together to support a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone involved in the game.
Siu has been a member of Hoole Lawn Tennis Club since 2021 and regularly plays at the club with her two children. Through her involvement in the local tennis community, she understands the importance of creating a positive and supportive environment for young people and families participating in the sport.
Phil brings extensive professional safeguarding experience to the role. After 12 years in the RAF, he requalified as a social worker in 2004 and spent over 14 years working with children and families across a wide range of safeguarding areas, eventually managing a child protection team. In 2019 he moved into the charity sector as Regional Welfare Manager for the largest single-service military charity, where he also served as Adult Safeguarding Lead.
