In recent years Cheshire, Yorkshire & Lancashire have sent a mixed doubles pair to compete against each other in front of the crowds that go to watch the professionals. This year Abi Redman and Dan Longshaw were chosen by the captains of the women's & men's county team to represent Cheshire. Unfortunately, the first day they were scheduled to play was rained off, however, they still managed to play on centre court the following day and defeated the more experienced Lancashire players both of whom currently play at an American University. No surprise they really enjoyed the match and the bonus of defeating our nearby county rivals. Special thanks go to the tournament organisers and especially Mike McBrien for making it a memorable experience for Abi and Dan.
