On April 12th, Bollington Recreation Ground officially unveiled its beautifully refurbished park courts, marking a major win for the local sporting community.

What a great weekend at the Bidston Tennis Centre! The energy was electric as we hosted the annual National Winter League Finals, bringing together some of the most promising talent in Cheshire.

Last year, our Ladies County Cup Team were delighted to be asked to play at the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC). Following a standout performance in 2025, the Cheshire Ladies were invited onto the grounds of Wimbledon for a once-in-a-lifetime competitive experience. At Cheshire Tennis, we believe that tennis is a sport for everyone. As part of our ongoing commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), we are excited to spotlight three major upcoming events in 2026, that celebrate accessible sport and showcase incredible talent within our region.

Our Para-standing & Wheelchair Tennis "Come and Try" event was a spectacular success with over 30 players turning up. Seeing the courts buzzing with energy was a real highlight of 2026 so far.

It was an eventful and exciting weekend for our Cheshire teams at the 18U County Cup, with plenty of grit on display! We are so proud of all of our players and captains for their hard work.

Cheshire Tennis is delighted to support the Northern Women’s Tennis Day hosted at The Lexus Ilkley Open. On Monday 8th June female coaches, referees, club volunteers, all female tennis workforce are invited to join Yasmin Clarke for the unmissable event.

There has been a lot of work identifying and taking positive action to support coaches from under-represented groups, including female, ethnically diverse and disabled. Court Craft (in partnership with the LTA) will continue to help support those in under represented groups who may be interested in tennis and padel coaching.

Cheshire’s 9U teams delivered a fantastic weekend of tennis at the County Cup Northern Finals at Nottingham Tennis Centre, with the boys crowned Northern Champions and the girls securing an excellent third-place finish. Competing against some of the strongest counties in the region, both teams showed outstanding determination, teamwork, and resilience throughout a thrilling day of competition.

We're thrilled to share a wonderful feature recently published by the ITF on Cheshire's Seb Jackson, who has always been a cornerstone of our tennis community, but it turns out his influence reaches much further than the Cheshire borders.

We're recruiting! Are you passionate about racket sports and ready to take the lead in shaping competitions across Cheshire? Cheshire Tennis is looking for a dynamic Competitions Co-ordinator to help grow and develop the sport in one of the UK’s most active tennis communities. Closing date is 10th April 2026.

Our Cheshire boys and girls participated in the 9U County Cup events this weekend, bringing all their passion, skills, enjoyment and teamwork. Both teams earned their well-deserved reward of a place in the National Finals. I couldn’t be more proud of them.

The first event in this year's County Championships, the 50 & Over Mixed Doubles, took place on Saturday 24th January at Bidston Sports & Activity Centre.

Entries for the Cheshire Tennis Senior & Super Senior Closed County Championships are open. Please note all even number age groups and all odd number age groups will take place in two different locations on different dates.

Entries for the Cheshire Tennis 50+ Mixed Doubles County Championships are open and will close on 17 January. The event will take place on 24 January 2026 at Bidston Sports & Activity Centre, bringing together players from across the county for a day of competitive and enjoyable doubles tennis.
