Our Para-standing & Wheelchair Tennis "Come and Try" event was a spectacular success with over 30 players turning up. Seeing the courts buzzing with energy was a real highlight of 2026 so far.

Working alongside Warrington Wolves, the event was a powerful reminder of how much can be achieved when sport is made accessible to everyone. It wasn’t just about the physical skill on display, it was about the sheer joy and sense of community shared by players with a wide range of disabilities.

We had 32 players travel from far and wide to be part of the action. The sessions ran well throughout the day thanks to the superb organisation of Sue Morrison from LUSU, who was brilliantly assisted by Callum and Neil.

Throughout the day, we had the privilege of chatting with some wonderful people. Their stories of resilience were deeply moving, but what really stood out was the social vibe of the whole event. Between the rallies and the drills, there were smiles, laughter, and new friendships being formed.

Cheshire tennis would like to give a huge shout-out to Jayne for her incredible work in organising such a unique and inspiring day at Birchwood last week.

A special thank you goes to Adam Hills for his unwavering and continued support of the para-standing community. We were also incredibly lucky to be joined by GB Paralympian Robyn Love, whose presence added an extra layer of inspiration to the eventful day.

This event proved that tennis is truly a game for everyone. Thank you to everyone who traveled, played, and helped make the day at Birchwood one to remember!
