Entries for the Cheshire Tennis 50+ Mixed Doubles County Championships are open and will close on 17 January. The event will take place on 24 January 2026 at Bidston Sports & Activity Centre, bringing together players from across the county for a day of competitive and enjoyable doubles tennis.

We were delighted to welcome almost 350 guests to celebrate the very best of Cheshire Tennis at our 17th Annual Presentation Evening, held at the iconic Chester Racecourse.

This is your chance to compete on the world-famous grass courts at Wimbledon – Play Your Way to Wimbledon, powered by Vodafone, is open for entries! Players start by competing locally at an event taking place at a local club, park or school, with the winners progressing through to the County and/or Area Finals, and then onto the National Finals at Wimbledon.

Each year, Cheshire Tennis EDI offers a free training course with specialist adaptive tennis coaches LUSU Sports. This half day course is free to all Cheshire coaches offering a special insight into the most up to date coaching advice for delivering adaptive tennis sessions.

Cheshire Tennis EDI committee, Pat Shields and Carol Needham worked with the lead representatives of walking tennis groups across the county to host a two hour inter club social walking tennis event at Birchwood indoor tennis centre.

On October 23rd over 20 players from Manor Road’s Walking Tennis group travelled to Culcheth to participate in a Walking tennis social between the two clubs. Over 32 players were in attendance, and all 4 courts were buzzing.

The Junior County Cup events have now wrapped up for 2025 — and what a year it’s been. Across every age group, our teams have shown incredible spirit, determination and teamwork, representing Cheshire with pride every time they step on court. Behind every success has been the dedication of our captains, coaches and parents, whose support and encouragement have made all the difference.

Para-Standing Tennis is coming to Birchwood on the 1st-2nd November, and time to secure your place in the tournament is running out! The County Championships will feature Men’s and Women’s Singles and Doubles, with all events open for entry from 30th July. We’d love to see you there!

Following on from the success of our Inter Club Tournament last year, we held the 2025 event at Birchwood Tennis Centre on Monday 29th Sept. The event was refereed by head coach Mike Herd (Helsby TC) .

We’re excited to announce the launch of the Cheshire Head Coach Award, a brand new, Cheshire-exclusive honour introduced as part of the wider LTA Awards programme.

The 3rd Annual 7U Team Challenge took place on Sunday 5th October at Birchwood Tennis Centre, with 11 enthusiastic teams from across the county coming together for a day full of competitive spirit, teamwork, and outstanding tennis.

The annual 35 &Over mixed doubles event took place on Sunday 28th September at Knutsford Tennis Club for the first time in its history, and it was a great success. There were more pairs who entered compared to the previous year, from clubs from all corners of the county and the standard of the tennis was high. Tom Brown was the referee, and he arranged the pairs into 2 groups, such that every pair played full sets, giving plenty of tennis to all resulting in long exciting ral

We’re excited to announce that entries are now open for the upcoming Men's and Ladies 50+ Cheshire Shield. This annual event returns to David Lloyd Cheadle this November, offering a great opportunity for players aged 50 and over to compete.

We’re thrilled to share some fantastic news from the Cheshire County Men’s 70 & Over team, who have just wrapped up a brilliant summer season, winning Group 1 and securing a place in the National Finals against Essex this October.

Cheshire County Junior Championships 2025 took place at Hoole LTC between the 23rd to the 30th August. With over 230 entries across 33 categories, the tournament again proved why it is such a popular event in the Cheshire Tennis calendar.

Cheshire Tennis is celebrating a fantastic weekend of results as both our Boys and Girls 12U County Cup teams finished top of their groups, securing their place as group winners after dominant performances across the board.
