Bramhall Lane Crowned Champions at the 2026 Women’s Cheshire Shield

What better way to spend a beautiful, sunny Father’s Day than watching some of the finest tennis Cheshire has to offer?

On Sunday 21st June 2026, Bramhall Lane Lawn Tennis Club played host to the annual Women’s Cheshire Shield. The tournament brought together four clubs from across the county, featuring a lineup of 16 players. The talent on display was great to see, spanning generations and levels, including one former GB player and a couple current Cheshire county players ranging from the 16U squad all the way to the Over 50s.

To ensure total fairness and a true reflection of the day's best team, the tournament utilised a round-robin format where every pair faced off in a single set to 6. Spectators were treated to brilliant rallies, strategic masterclasses, and an outstanding showcase of regional talent.

After a day of intense competition, the final standings were:

·       Winners:     BLLTC

·       Runners up: Widnes

·       3rd:   David Lloyd Cheshire Oaks

·       4th:   Lymm
