Cheshire County 35& over championships 2025 took place at Bowdon LTC from

May 9-11th and was refereed by Dave Paterson. Entries were lower than in previous

years, especially in the ladies’ events but nonetheless some of the matches were of

the highest quality.

In the ladies’ singles Kate McCall beat Rebecca Davidson 7-5 6-

4. In the doubles final Lorraine Sinclair-Lawrence and Hannah Lorquet were

victorious in a close encounter against Rebecca and Marti. In the men’s event there

were 10 entries with Tom Winters travelling from London to defend his singles title

which he did successfully but only after some very close matches in the quarters and

then the semi-final. In the doubles final Seb Jackson and Phil Spencer were a little

too strong for their opponents Tautvydas Butkus and Richard Beschizza but the

match still produced some entertaining tennis.
