Cheshire Tennis is proud to support the LTA’s Young Person’s Welfare Ambassador (YPWA) programme, an exciting initiative that gives young people aged 14–24 the chance to make a real impact at their local venue.
YPWAs play an important role in promoting safeguarding and welfare by raising awareness, gathering feedback from fellow players, and acting as a link between young people and venue committees.
The 12-month programme is designed to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and support future careers in areas like sport, education, social work and more. From public speaking to event planning, it’s a brilliant opportunity to grow both personally and professionally and make a difference in your tennis community.
If you or someone you know is interested, please speak to your club’s Welfare Officer, coach, or a committee member. If you’re under 18, be sure to discuss it with a parent or carer first.
We’d love to see young people across Cheshire stepping into this important role and helping to make our venues safer, stronger, and more inclusive.
