Walking Tennis Social a Huge Success

On October 23rd over 20 players from Manor Road’s Walking Tennis group travelled to Culcheth to participate in a Walking tennis social between the two clubs. Manor Rd had hosted a social some months previously. Despite a gloomy weather forecast the sun shone brightly. Over 32 players were in attendance, and all 4 courts were buzzing.

Culcheth rose to the occasion with their hospitality and served up some amazing cakes.

The event sparked a need to have more inter club Walking tennis events and has prompted a booking at Birchwood Tennis Centre on November 27th with an extended invite to other groups across the county.

A quote from one of the participants "John and I really enjoyed this morning. Culcheth made us feel very welcome and meeting and playing with different people was great. John gives the cakes 10 out of 10."

Helsby also had their Halloween themed Walking Tennis session with their bucket of treats and, no doubt, some tricks during the enjoyable morning!

Walking Tennis groups in Cheshire are growing in numbers. Cheshire Tennis has established a county WhatsApp group for the organisers of each group to be able to network and arrange exchange social sessions.
